The Career Development Center (CDC), Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Preparation at Hasanuddin University held the Hasanuddin Career Program (HCP), Friday (19/5).
Located in the Hall of Prof. Mattulada Unhas, HCP was attended by 150 participants who were final year students and fresh graduates.
This activity was opened by the Head of Unhas Career Preparation Sub Directorate, Sahriyanti Saad, SHut MSi PhD. In her remarks, Sahriyanti Saad explained that HCP is a routine program of the Unhas Career Center. This year the HCP is scheduled eight times, following the number of graduation periods.
“This HCP is one of the main programs of the Unhas CDC to develop the potential of alumni so they are ready to face the world of work,” he explained.
Sahriyanti Saad added that at the HCP Batch II 2023, CDC presented two speakers from companies or industries that were on the rise, namely startups and the beauty industry.
“We hope that Unhas graduates individually can compete outside. We are trying to create a program to equip them to be ready to work in a more real world,” he added.
At the HCP this time, participants were provided with two materials, namely “Productive Work Ethics: Career Success” delivered by HR Business Partner Coord East Regional Paragon Corp, Ayu Ardhillah Yuliartha and material “Knowing Yourself: Seizing Opportunities by Regional Head Sales East Indonesia/ District Head of Gojek Sulawesi, Daru Puji Utomo.

material like this is indeed very interesting and graduates are needed now,” said Ayu Ardhillah starting the material.
The woman who has had a career for eight years at Paragon also explained about the career stages that fresh graduates will go through, tips on making a curriculum vitae (CV), to tips and tricks for job interviews.
Meanwhile, Daru Puji Utomo shared a lot of his experiences when starting his career as a fresh graduate in a number of multinational companies. He also explained about the personal values and goals that must be owned at this time.
“Never stop learning, lifelong learning.
Graduating from college doesn’t mean the process is over,” he explained.
He also advised the participants not to be afraid of challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that come their way to further develop their own capacities.
In addition to the two materials above, participants then took the TOEFL test preparation from Macca Education. The TOEFL test is also prepared by the CDC Unhas so that participants can use it when applying for jobs or supplies when preparing further study scholarships.(*)
