Makassar, October 2, 2023 – The Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Hasanuddin University (FMIPA UNHAS) recently conducted a community service program at Shohwatul Ishaq Islamic Boarding School. The activity aims to improve the quality of mathematics education at the boarding school.

A number of lecturers and students from the Mathematics Department collaborated with teachers from the boarding school to provide training and supplementary materials for the Mathematics subject. In addition, they also supplied educational facilities such as books and mathematical teaching aids.

The initiative was warmly welcomed by the administrators and students of Shohwatul Ishaq Islamic Boarding School. “We are very grateful for the assistance and dedication from the team of the Mathematics Department of FMIPA UNHAS,” said Ustadz Ahmad, one of the boarding school administrators.

This community service is expected to serve as an initial step for a more intensive collaboration between higher educational institutions and religious educational organizations in improving the quality of education in Indonesia.
